#31 My Favorite Season!

I love the Fall. It's my favorite season. It reminds me of "You've Got Mail," cooler temps, back to school, holiday decorations, burning leaf piles, wood burning fireplaces, sweet potato pie, pecans, and Hot Chocolate.

I've never been a fan of the summer months. I was born in the south, no doubt, and the southern summers are simply too hot. And the humidity is unbearable, so when fall rolls around, I'm a happy little clam.

Being out of work these last few months has made the summer much easier to handle though. I can't do a lot of physical exertion, so I've been able to relax all summer. I quit taking the Cyclosporine and Prednisone at the first of September and started my taper earlier in the summer, so I've had a rough few months in decreasing my meds. The body aches. Headaches. Indigestion. Nausea and vomiting. Diarrhea. Constipation. Cold chills. Exhaustion. Weakness. I can say I've kept it interesting.

But now, it's almost the first of October. I noticed the other day that my toes are swelling. They're fat and juicy. The edema is beginning to work it's way up into my ankles now. It was noticeable today. Bummer. I've had a severe aches in my left side too. It's a pain that, on ocassion, seems to take my breath away.

I go on Tuesday to provide my 24 hour urine sample and lab work. I then see the Neph, Dr. Straight-Laced, on October 14th. We shall see what the prognosis is and how he intends to go forward. I'm reluctant to find out what the new medication will be, the side effects and cost involved.

Tuesday is the deadline for Obamacare - yah or nay? I hope it's nay! Ultimately, my life will depend on it in the long run.
