#39 - Summer Update

It's September 1st. The summer flew by since my last update. I've felt wonderful for the most part. I can't complain. Since I had my gallbladder taken out - my world has changed. No more vomiting. No more rocking back and forth half the night. No more crying day in and day out.

Dr. Straight-Laced has been decreasing my Cyclo to prepare a full taper. I've been on the Cyclo for 2 years now (this month).

I went to the Neurologist(Dr. Boy I need a drink), but I didn't get to go until late August, not May like originally thought. The original appointment was a no-go. I showed up, but there were issues with the appointment. Like the fact that there wasn't a referral done and the doctor wasn't a part of my plan. So, I had to wait an additional two months for the referral and appointment which I had to do the leg work myself to find a doctor within my plan and hassle my primary to complete the referral. Oh the hoops we must jump these days.

I went to the appointment and the doctor ordered an EMG. I then had to wait for the EMG appointment. Meanwhile, I am cutting myself, burning myself, hitting myself. Bleeding, bruising. I can't feel a thing. Go to the EMG - that was brutal. I didn't like that at all. They hooked up electrodes to my skin in various locations then put a taser like instrument to my skin to stimulate the muscle. My muscles were jumping out of the skin. It's quite uncomfortable, but bearable. Then, the second half of the EMG - the needle test. Owie owie owie. The takes a needle and inserts it into my muscle and then asks me to move that muscle WHILE THE NEEDLE IS STILL IMBEDED. I freaking HATE needles by the way.

He said he found a CAT 1 abnormality in my right hand anterior and posterior so he did the test at the cervical neck muscle which also proved conclusive. I now have to have an MRI to rule out cervical spine injury or MS / multiple sclerosis. I have yet to hear back on my blood work and labs, but Mary (Dr. Boy I need a drink's nurse) called last week, right before the holiday and left me a message to call her back.

Sigh

No news from the Disability people.

Between the pups and the cheapo pool we bought, I've been managing fairly this summer. I'm very excited about fall though. Fall is my favorite season!
